Transcripts cover policy and political events such as congressional hearings, briefings and TV show interviews. Transcripts are nearly verbatim accounts of what was said at an event and are transcribed and edited by a human; they are not machine-generated. Due to the nature of these live events, accuracy is usually very good but not guaranteed.
Please note we do not generally cover markups – the only guaranteed markups are NDAA, Defense and Milcon/VA appropriations markups that are open. Markup coverage can be requested with the same approval and schedule availability as off-the-hill or special events. There is generally in-depth coverage of all markups available on the Committees Coverage page on CQ.
Past hearings can be requested, subject to scheduling availability, and have a general default of a 2-day turnaround time. We have some hearings going back to the 103rd Congress (1993) on CQ. We are happy to try to find older hearing transcripts.
