Difference between AI transcripts and PF transcripts

Proofread transcripts are completed by a person, whereas AI transcripts are machine-generated. CQ's Proofread Transcripts are generated through a manual process wherein dedicated members of the CQ editorial team review every word before it's published. This is why Proofread Transcripts typically take around 24 -72 hours to complete.

AI-generated transcripts are produced by artificial intelligence, meaning they can be ready in as little as 1 hour after the event! However, there may be a few mistakes an inconsistencies.

Below is an example of a completed proofread transcript.

On the other hand, the AI-generated transcripts will be distinguishable by their yellow background and banner.

How about Markups?

Unfortunately, CQ doesn't proofread markups / meetings. However, our AI transcripts would be available but is an add on to the basic CQ subscription. If you are interested with the CQ AI generated transcripts, kindly reach out to your CQ account rep, or contact CQ Support.

Markups are done by Senate and House committees. They publicly release what happened during a markup in a committee report. This is a publicly available report available to everyone. Additionally, CQ provides committee reports and their own in-house markup coverage (CQ Committee Coverage) which means we send our own reporters to markups to also cover the event. This offers a more comprehensive summary of what happened during a markup, includes amendments, vote breakdowns and often comes out earlier than committee reports.
