How do I delete a custom field?

Need to remove a custom field you no longer use? CQ allows you to manage your custom fields directly from your account settings. This article walks you through the steps to delete a custom field and explains which fields can’t be removed.

Steps to Delete a Custom Field

1. In CQ, go to My Account.

2. Click Account Settings.

3. Select the Custom Fields tab.

4. Find the custom field you want to delete, and click Edit.

5. Then choose Delete this field.

Important: Deleting a field permanently removes it from all pages and records.

Note: Vote custom fields “Position” and “Vote Caption” are system defaults and cannot be edited or deleted.
