Best Practices for using Committee Tracking Tools
Researching through Committee Coverage
When clicking into 'Committee Coverage' from the 'Bills' page, you'll see two distinct types of content: hearing coverage and markup/vote coverage.
Hearing coverage includes agendas for scheduled hearings, and is usually much shorter.
Markup and vote coverage contains in-depth summaries of actions that occurred and breakdowns of votes taken, and is therefore usually much longer.
Leverage Specific Search Engines
Committee Coverage and committee reports both have their own individual search engines that allow you to dive deep and find the exact content you're looking for. Search by keyword, bill, date or committee to find coverage of any specific hearing or markup.
Saving Info to Return to Later
If you'd like to save a Committee Coverage page or any other document to come back to later, simply click 'Save to Projects' on the top toolbar near the righthand side. This will allow you to store content in a folder to return to later, if you'd like to see any new recent actions, amendments and more.
Head to 'Review' → 'My Projects' to access anything you save later on.
