How to best use your new Bill Tracking Tools
Researching through Bill Pages
Beyond the general 'Bills' page accessed by navigating to 'Research' → 'Bills,' there are separate bill pages for each individual bill both in the current session and in previous sessions of Congress.
To find them, simply search the bill number or keywords in the search bar in the upper righthand corner.
When on the page, you'll see that all options in the lefthand toolbar are related solely to the bill you've searched and selected.
Select 'Actions' to see the last major actions on the bill, or 'Votes' to see all floor and committee votes on the bill.
Leverage Specific Search Engines
Many of the legislative tracking features available on the general 'Bills' page have search engines built into their pages or sections, such as:
- Bill Analysis
- Bill Text
- CRS Reports
- Floor Votes
Use these search engines to dive deep into any of the above sources to find exactly what you're looking for.
Saving Info to Return to Later
If you'd like to save a bill, floor vote, bill text, CRS report, or any other document to come back to later, simply click 'Add to Projects' on the top toolbar near the righthand side. This will allow you to store content in a folder to return to later, if you'd like to see any new recent actions, amendments and more.
Head to 'Review' → 'My Projects' to access anything you save later on.
